A Letter from Mother Mary Bethany
Dear friends of MARY,
The Sisters and I are sincerely appreciative of your loving support this past year. You made the benefit luncheon a success, and you have volunteered your time and talents in many ways to enhance our lives in the monastery. We are being upheld by the fruits of your generosity, and we don't take you for granted. Thank you again from fifteen grateful hearts in the El Dorado forest. May God bless your New Year!

Dear friends of the Carmelites,
If you haven’t visited the Monastery in a long time, it is worth the effort to visit during Christmas. The grounds and the chapel are decorated so beautifully! Yes, they have “Midnight Mass” but it is usually held at 9:00 PM on Christmas Eve.
We had our Board meeting last Sunday and set the next meeting for February 11. All are welcome to attend the board meetings! The next one will be at St. Mel’s for a change of venue. I will send out a reminder.
Prayer on the Mountain will be returning this Spring! Watch for our next bulletin to announce dates and speakers.
Thank you so much for all your support in 2017. We are so very grateful! Please remember the Sisters in your Holy Days gift giving. They rely on us all for their support. Father Matthew Spencer, OSJ, recently spoke about the importance of Religious who are dedicated to the role of praying for our spiritual well-being; cloistered nuns, such as the Carmelites, who sacrifice their lives for the betterment of all mankind. They uphold us in prayer; we should uphold them in their physical needs. Please remember them.
